A couple of days ago in this column, I predicted this weekend as a good one to go out on a picnic. Well, I finally got around to getting out of the house (dressed in protective gear, with my finger hovering over the umbrella's trigger, which is the only way to go out anymore) and, in the words of NBC's Willard Scott, it was really ugly out. Oy vey - what a mess! I walked through the fog wearing the shell-shocked look people have in that dream where they're back in college and it's finals and they haven't gone to class all semester. Apparently, I didn't realize I was supposed to write my own material.
