While little information about the song is readily attainable, it may have been written as an antirock prodisco anthem, perhaps in reaction to the so-called Disco Sucks movement of the late 1970s (the pinnacle of which occurred at Chicago's Comiskey Park on 12 July 1979, when thousands of disco records were burned in a bonfire in the outfield. The events were part of Disco Demolition Night).
