17. On 10 August 1999, Buford O. Furrow, 37, an out-of-work gun dealer from Washington state, opened fire on a Jewish community center in Los Angeles, injuring five people. Later that day, he shot and killed a local postal carrier. Furrow, an active member of the anti-Semitic hate group Aryan Nations, used a variety of firearms to carry out these tasks.
