Hi Polly,

Longtime reader, first-time writer ...

Guilt is something I imagine we all grapple with (with the possible exception of gay people, since quite obviously they're superior in many ways - most notably, that they don't know what the word guilt means). Being in college works wonders for shedding years of senseless guilt. It also allows a person to reexamine such issues as sexuality and interpersonal relationships. But I'm sure we all know this.

Dear Hayduke,

Since you left off so many of the important functions that college serves in our lives, I thought I should point out some of them.

See how important college is, boys and girls? So take those SATs and send away for those applications! It's time to get serious about making a mess of everything you've achieved so far!
