Among the items presented to us as "substantial and convincing evidence" of an affair between Ms. Snodgrass and Congressman Hyde were several photos. While these seemed compelling at first, our forensic investigation indicated that one of the pictures, depicting Hyde and Snodgrass at an Illinois nightclub, had been doctored by White House operatives to present the congressman in the worst possible light, while the other, which purported to show the couple in flagrante delicto, appeared to be completely fabricated.
