SUCK SCHOOL OF COMIC ART

The Suck School of Comic Art is not a correspondence school. Please do not send sketches or drawings, no matter how funny, to Suck. We will not review them, grade them, or render advice of any kind. All unsolicited material becomes the property of Suck, and we reserve the right to steal any idea from them as we please.

PART ONE: Basic Laws of Comic Drawing

  • Crooked lines are funnier than straight lines.
  • Dotted lines are funnier than solid lines.
  • Light colors are funnier than dark colors.
  • Flat is funnier than perspective.
  • Ugly is funnier than cute.
  • Top-heavy objects are funnier than bottom-heavy ones.
  • Really big is funnier than really small.
  • Small kitchen appliances are funnier than furniture. Always include either a blender or, better yet, a toaster in every kitchen setting.

Principles in Effect

Special bonus comedy tip: Call-outs are funny.
