By the time I DID get my ass down there mass confusion reigned. No longer able to stand the sight of each other, a group of rebel Reformers opened a NEW "Reform Party Convention" in an adjacent theater, while supporters of the party's front-running Presidential candidate — the controversial right-wing commentator and two-time "America First" Republican Candidate Pat Buchanan — had taken complete control of the main hall of the Long Beach Convention Center.

The "rebels" were hardly a mere handful of misfits, however. In fact, they were made up of a lot of Reform Party founder Ross Perot's earliest followers and party operatives, including Secretary Jim Mangia and — unfortunately for me — PRESS secretary Donna Donavan.
