It's in your nature to question. In your early 20s, questioning everything served you well. Why take that pointless job? Why go out with that pointless woman? Questions kept you from making the stupid mistakes everyone around you was making.

Plus, your constant questioning enabled you to befriend other questioners like yourself.

But at some point, the comfort of empathy gives way to a nihilistic, negative abyss.

At one point, you prided yourself on being able to stare into this abyss with reckless aplomb.

As you get older, that abyss threatens your daily life in ways you would've never foreseen.
